Kimberly B. Cheney (born November 25, 1935)[1] served as Vermont's attorney general from 1973 to 1975.[2]
Career[]
Cheney graduated from Yale College in 1957. After a stint in the U.S. Navy, he attended Yale Law School, where he received the degree of LL.B. in 1964. He began his law practice in Connecticut, then moved to Vermont, where he served as an Assistant Attorney General, Education from 1967 to 1968. He was subsequently elected as Washington County States Attorney and served in that capacity until 1972.[2]
He was elected Vermont Attorney General and served from 1973 to 1975. Since that time, Cheney has held a number of prominent positions including chair of the Vermont State Labor Relations Board 1978-1986.[2] Chair, Committee to advise Supreme Court on Criminal Rules of Procedure 1973-1978, Chair, Vermont Advisory Committee to United States Civil Rights Commission 1981 2007, Chair Board, Vermont State Employees Credit Union 2019, Chair, Montpelier Planning Commission 2013-2019, Chair Central Vermont Public Safety Authority2019-2021.
Cheney retired in 2018 |Formerly he was a partner in the law firm of Cheney, Brock and Saudek, P.C. in Montpelier, Vermont. His litigation practice included Personal Injury, Family Law, Criminal Law, Civil Rights, and Professional Regulation.
