Kouto is a town in northern Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefecture of and the seat of Kouto Department in Bagoué Region, Savanes District. Kouto is also a commune. The town is known for its seventeenth century Sahelian mosque, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (along with other nearby mosques) in 2021.[2]

In 2014, the population of the sub-prefecture of Kouto was 37,060.[3]
