Kunjargad Fort/ Kombad Fort (Marathi: कुंजारगड/कोम्बडगड) is a fort located 135 km (84 mi)from Kalyan via Khireshwar. The fort is in Akole taluka in Ahmednagar district, of Maharashtra. The name of the fort is derived from the word “Kunj” meaning elephant in Sanskrit due to its similarity with an elephant.[1]
History[]
Not much history of the fort is known. Shivaji Maharaj halted on this fort in 1670.[2]
