La Côte International School Aubonne (LCIS) is a private, co-educational international school in Aubonne, Switzerland, serving both international and local families with children aged 2-18 years old. The school is a part of the Nord Anglia Education network or international schools. It currently has around 420 students representing more than 37 nationalities.[citation needed]

Academic programme[]

La Côte International School Aubonne delivers accredited international curricula accepted by universities around the world. LCIS offers English, French and bilingual pathways to its students. It follows the Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged 2 - 5 years old. The Primary curriculum (Year 1 - 6) incorporates aspects of the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum. The Secondary curriculum follows the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Year 7 - 9, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Year 10 and 11 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13. In addition, LCIS offers a bilingual French-English preparatory Swiss Maturité programme, which is currently available to students aged 11 to 15 years old (8è to 10è HarmoS).

Nord Anglia Education students are connected through its proprietary platform, Global Campus, enabling students across the world to connect, collaborate and learn with each another through global projects and learning resources.

Campus[]

La Côte International School Aubonne is located between Lausanne and Geneva, nestled amongst apple orchards of the La Côte region with a proximity to Lac Léman, the Jura Mountains and the Swiss Alps. The modern campus was completed in 2014 and includes a double gymnasium, a 200+ seat theatre, dedicated music rooms with state of the art technology, a film department with the latest production equipment and fully equipped design and art studios.

History[]

The school was initially established in Mont-sur-Rolle in September 2008 with seven staff members and 42 children. The following year the school moved to a new location, in Vich,[1] near Gland.[2][3] In September 2011, La Côte International School Aubonne became part of the Nord Anglia Education group of schools, which in March 2021 counted 73 international schools in 30 countries.[citation needed] In 2014 the school moved to a new, purpose-built campus in Aubonne.[citation needed]
