North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is a PK12 private, boarding and day co-educational college-preparatory school in Coconut Creek, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1957 by James Montgomery.

The school was originally located in Lighthouse Point, Florida and relocated to its present location in the summer of 2004. The Coconut Creek campus of nearly 80 acres (0.32 km2) consists of an upper, middle and lower school. It became a member of the Meritas Family of Schools in 2005 and then Nord Anglia Education in June 2015.[3]

History[]

The school was established in 1957 in Lighthouse Point. The school has grown to include grades Pre-K3 through 12. The boarding program has also expanded to include approximately 328 students.

North Broward Preparatory School is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools[4] and the Florida Kindergarten Council.[5]

Boarding Program[]

North Broward Preparatory School is an international community, resembling a small college. In 2018, the school opened a new 500 student residential village on the main campus. Students now live in single gender floors with a double occupancy system. Each dormitory area has its own kitchen, common area, study area, and Wi-Fi. Boarding facilities are supervised by adult staff members who live in-residence. Professional security systems are also used to ensure students safety. The student body includes over 300 boarding students.

Athletics[]

The school is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) which promotes, directs, supervises, and regulates all interscholastic high school athletic events in the State of Florida. North Broward's athletic teams are nicknamed the Eagles. North Broward Preparatory School supports 18 athletic activities and programs including Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Equestrian, Fencing, Flag Football (Girls), Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field and Volleyball.
