Laure Beaufils is a British diplomat, serving as the British Ambassador to the Philippines and non-resident Ambassador to Palau since August 2021.

Career[]

Prior to joining the Civil Service, Beaufils worked for the United Nations and also in the private sector.

Beaufils was the head of the UK Department of International Development in Rwanda from August 2014 to February 2017. She was the deputy director for the Middle East and North Africa of the Department of International Development from 2019 to 2021, and the Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria from 2017 to 2019.[1]

Ambassador to the Philippines and Palau[]

Beaufils was appointed to the role of Ambassador to the Philippines and non-resident Ambassador to Palau in 2021. She was the first woman to assume the role.[2][3]

During Beaufils' first six months as ambassador, the UK donated 5.6 million doses of the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to the Philippines. Beaufils called it "a testament of our friendship and enduring support through the pandemic".[4]
