Great Teacher Onizuka is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tohru Fujisawa, serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from January 8, 1997 to February 13, 2002.[1][2][3] The series was collected into 25 tankōbon volumes by Kodansha's Shōnen Magazine Comics imprint. It has been translated into English by publisher Tokyopop. Kodansha released a bi-lingual version in Japan.

On 9 June 2009, a sequel to the GTO manga began releasing in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, under the title GTO: 14 Days in Shonan. North American publisher Vertical Inc began publishing GTO: 14 Days in Shonan beginning January 2012 and has published all nine volumes. Vertical also continued and concluded the Shonan Junai Gumi manga series, from volume 11 onwards, as GTO: The Early Years in 2012.[4]

A new manga series, titled GTO: Paradise Lost, started in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine on April 14, 2014.[5] Kodansha USA released the manga in English in a digital format.[6]
