- ^ Under Abdurrahman Wahid's administration, the Department of Social Affairs was dissolved. A new non-ministerial agency, called the National Social Welfare Agency, was created. Anak Agung Gde Agung became its first and only head, assuming the title of the Head of National Social Welfare Agency. He also concurrently served as the State Minister of Public Issues.
- ^ On 23 August 2000, Abdurrahman Wahid conducted a reshuffle on the cabinet. The office of the State Minister of Public Issues was dissolved and the National Social Welfare Agency was put under the Department of Health. Subsequently, the office of the Minister of Health was renamed to Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
