  1. ^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Lady Gaga is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who has received many awards and nominations. She rose to prominence with the release of her debut album The Fame in 2008. The album won several awards and was nominated for six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. The album and its single "Poker Face" won Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording, respectively, at the 52nd Grammy Awards. It also won International Album at the 2010 Brit Awards. A follow-up EP, titled The Fame Monster, was released in 2009, and included the singles "Bad Romance" and "Telephone". The music videos of the songs won eight accolades from thirteen nominations at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, making Gaga the most nominated artist in VMA history for a single year and the first woman to receive two nominations for Video of the Year in one single night.[1] In 2011, Gaga was nominated for six Grammy Awards, and won three—Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Short Form Music Video for "Bad Romance".

Born This Way (2011), Gaga's second studio album, accrued three nominations at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, including her third consecutive nomination for Album of the Year. It also received several Album of the Year nominations at major awards around the world, such as the Juno Award and Hungarian Music Awards, winning the Japan Gold Disc Award. The music video for the title track won two VMAs, including Best Female Video. Her third album, Artpop (2013), was nominated for Top Dance/Electronic Album at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. In other musical ventures, Gaga released a collaborative jazz album with Tony Bennett, titled Cheek to Cheek (2014), which received the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

In 2015, Gaga released a song "Til It Happens to You", for the documentary film, The Hunting Ground. The song won a Satellite Award for Best Original Song, and was nominated for an Academy Award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Song, and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. That year, she became the first artist to win the Songwriters Hall of Fame's Contemporary Icon Award for "attaining an iconic status in pop culture". Gaga received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and a nomination at the 20th Satellite Awards for her role in the fifth season of American Horror Story, entitled Hotel. She has received three nominations at the Emmy Awards for her concerts television specials Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live!, and Super Bowl LI Halftime Show Starring Lady Gaga.

In 2018, Gaga starred as Ally Maine in the musical romance A Star Is Born, which garnered her the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress and the National Board of Review Award for Best Actress, while nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and a BAFTA Award. She also contributed to the film's soundtrack, which earned her the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music. For its lead single "Shallow", she received an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and four nominations at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, winning for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media—which she also won the following year for "I'll Never Love Again" along with a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. As a result, Gaga became the first woman to win an Academy Award, Grammy, BAFTA and Golden Globe in one year.[2] Chromatica (2020), Gaga's sixth studio album, yielded the single "Rain on Me" which secured her second Best Pop Duo/Group Performance win, bringing her total Grammy wins to twelve. At the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, she was honored with the inaugural Tricon Award recognizing artists accomplished in different areas of the entertainment industry, and won four more awards, making her the third biggest winner in VMAs' history, with eighteen awards.[3]

In addition to music awards, Gaga has earned several accolades for her philanthropic efforts, sixteen Guinness World Records, and received a National Arts Awards' Young Artist Award, which honors individuals who have shown accomplishments and leadership early in their career. She also won the Fashion Icon award by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in 2011 and the Jane Ortner Artist Award from the Grammy Museum in 2016. Recognized by Billboard as the Greatest Pop Star in 2009, with honorable mention in 2010 and 2011, and Woman of the Year in 2015, she has also been included in several Forbes' power rankings, was ranked fourth on VH1's Greatest Women in Music (2012), and was named by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010 and 2019.
