The following is a list of airports that have had commercial/civil and international air service in the past and no longer have scheduled commercial/passenger operations.

Nanchang Xiangtang Airport China Nanchang 10 September 1999 (civil) Xiangtang Airport was first opened in 1952 as a military base. In 1957 commercial flights were added, and it became a joint military-civil aerodrome until 1999, when all commercial traffic was moved to Nanchang Changbei International Airport. Since 1999, Xiangtang remained open for only military operations.

Dajiaochang Airport was a joint military-civil aerodrome until 1997, when all commercial traffic was moved to Nanjing Lukou International Airport. Military operations remained at Dajiaochang until 2015, when it was moved to Nanjing Luhe Airport.
Old Chiang Rai Airport Thailand Chiang Rai 1990s Replaced with the new Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai International Airport.
Paya Lebar Airport Singapore Singapore 29 December 1981 After all commercial traffic was moved to the much larger Singapore Changi Airport, the aerodrome was then converted into military operations. Since 1981, Paya Lebar remained open for only military operations.
The aerodrome is now known as Paya Lebar Air Base.
Polonia International Airport Indonesia Medan 25 July 2013 After all commercial traffic was moved to the much larger Kualanamu International Airport, the aerodrome was then converted into military operations. Since 2013, Polonia remained open for only military operations.
The aerodrome is now known as Soewondo Air Force Base.
Quilon Aerodrome India Thiruvananthapuram 1932 Replaced with Trivandrum International Airport in Chacka.

Safdarjung Airport India New Delhi 1962 (civil) Replaced with Indira Gandhi International Airport in Palam.
Closed for public use in 2002, it is now used for maintenance runs and helicopter rides. During the 2010 Commonwealth Games it was used as an airstrip for the VVVIP movement of Govt. of India officials.[1]
Şanlıurfa Airport Turkey Urfa 17 June 2007 Replaced with Şanlıurfa GAP Airport in Gölgen.
Selaparang Airport Indonesia Mataram–Lombok 30 September 2011 Replaced with Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport in Central Lombok Regency.

Shantou Waisha Airport China Shantou 15 December 2011 (civil) Shantou Waisha Airport was first opened in 1956 as a military base. In 1974 commercial flights were added, and it became a joint military-civil aerodrome until 2011, when all commercial traffic was moved to Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport. Since 2011, Shantou Waisha remained open for only military operations.

Surin Airport Thailand Surin Unknown The airport was open from 2002 to 2003 when the now defunct Air Andaman was the sole airline operating there, and reopened in 2013. The airport was briefly served by Nok Air. As of January 2020, there is no scheduled airline service at the airport. Nok Air now offers air service to nearby Buriram Airport with a bus connection to Surin.

Yeouido Airport operated as a commercial aerodrome until 1958, when all commercial traffic was moved to Gimpo International Airport. It was then fully converted into a military base, which operated in Yeouido until 1971.

Berlin Schönefeld Airport Germany Berlin 25 October 2020 Schönefeld was the major civil airport of East Germany and the only airport of the former East Berlin.
In 2020 the Schönefeld name ceased to exist, marking its closure as an independent airport, with large parts of its infrastructure being incorporated into the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport as its Terminal 5.
Berlin Tegel Airport Germany Berlin 8 November 2020 First opened in 1906 as Luftschiffhafen Reinickendorf, Tegel was built during the Berlin Airlift in 1948.
In 2020 air traffic was transferred gradually in stages to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport from 31 October to 8 November.
Site redeveloped into Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin — Tegel Campus.
