June 8, 2021 Amanda Carmichael, 41, Female Pit Bull cross Maryborough, Queensland — The woman visited a property where she was minding the dogs while their owner was away, they mauled her to death in the backyard. Neighbours raised the alarm.[2][3]
March 29, 2020 Sally Holland, 91, Female Bullmastiff x Pit Bull Vincentia New South Wales — Three dogs escaped their yard in the early morning and headed to Collingwood Beach where they attacked a total of 5 people, killing a 91 year old woman while she was on her morning walk. The four other people were taken to hospital with bites and lacerations.[4][5]
July 10, 2019 Leo Biancofiore, 61, Male American Staffordshire Terrier Mill Park, Victoria — The victim, a wheelchair user, was attacked and killed by his son's dog. The victim's 58-year-old wife was hospitalized with serious injuries. Police officers jumped a fence and fired shots to stop the attack. The dog, which was not registered locally, was captured and euthanized.[6][7]
June 10, 2019 Graham Smith, 51, Male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Nowra, New South Wales — Victim was found dead in his unit. After investigating the death, investigators came to the conclusion he was attacked by his own dog after suffering an epileptic fit. There were extensive injuries to the body. The dog was euthanized.[8][9][7]
May 16, 2019 Rosemary O'Reilly, 72, Female Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Rhodesian Ridgeback Wilton, New South Wales — The couple's pet dog attacked either the wife or husband (reports vary), and the other stepped in to help. Both suffered severe bite wounds. The woman died in hospital. The dog was seized, had been owned by the couple for about 3 years, was registered, and had not been reported to council previously. There were a number of dogs at the home.[10]
March 1, 2019 Colin Amatto, 40, Male 2 American Staffordshire Terriers Tregear, New South Wales — Victim was attacked on January 24 and sustained a significant number of injuries to his face, abdomen, and chest, and went into cardiac arrest. He was placed in an induced coma and died five weeks later. A 30-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter were also injured in the attack and taken to hospital with minor injuries. The dogs were euthanized.[11][12][7]
March 3, 2018 Kamillah Jones, 1, Female Rottweiler Inverell, New South Wales — The dog grabbed the baby girl out of her pram while mother was walking with her daughter down the street. The child suffered critical injuries and died on the way to hospital. The dog, owned by a family member, had cleared a fence. The dog was seized.[13][14]

May 18, 2019 Name undisclosed, F, 3 Dogs (2 or more) Limpopo — Victim had wandered into the backyard of a tavern where she was attacked by dogs. Her mother was inside the tavern.[19]
December 6, 2018 Name undisclosed, 6 Rottweiler (2) Cape Town — Victim was attacked by two dogs.[20][21]
April 4, 2017 Name undisclosed, F, 11 Pit bull Calitzdorp — A dog broke free of its chain and inflicted severe head injuries to a girl when she arrived at a neighbors for an errand.[22]
August 26, 2016 Faith Hendricks, F, 1 Pit bull Cape Town — Victim was grabbed by the neck and shaken violently by the family dog which broke free of its chain. The dog was euthanized as it has sustained blunt force trauma, broken bones and stab wounds while trying to stop the attack. The owner was also bitten.[23]
August 26, 2016 Name undisclosed, M, 6 Dogs (2) Stellenbosch — Victim and his cousin were swimming in a pond when the dogs jumped over a fence.[24]
August 14, 2016 Name undisclosed, M, 4 Dog Oudtshoorn — Victim was attacked by the family dog. The dog was euthanized.[25]

August 1st 2021 Esther Vianna da Silveira, 4yo Rottweiler, family Pet Girl was playing with the dog in the garden when the attack occurred. Girl succumbed to several injuries to the head. [2][3]
July 25, 2021 Marli Donegá Tizura, 53yo 6 pitbulls Birigui (SP) Brasil - Victim was returning to country house, carrying pizza boxes and was attacked by the 6 dogs. She had multiple fractures, scalped and extensive other injuries. She was familiar with the dogs who had never acted aggressively. April 18, 2021 2 year Old Child Pitbull, Family Pet Luziânia (GO) Brasil - Family pet of several years, attacked the 2 brothers, one of 2yo and the other of 7yo. Police shot the animal on site. Younger boy died of severe injuries to neck and head. [4][5][6]
February 15, 2021 Phelipe dos Santos Vieira, 26yo, male 2 Pitbulls Araurama (RJ) Brasil - Victim was looking after dogs whose owners were out of the city. 2 other boys, age 7 and 9 year old were attacked. Each dog received two shots as they weren't stopping attacking the victims. [7][8][9]
August 14, 20201 26 days Old, baby Girl Chow-Chow, family pet Biguaçu (SC) Brasil - Family pet bit child in the head following a dog fight at home.[10]
October 22, 2019 Robin, 8 months, Male German Shepherd Diemen, the Netherlands - Victim got attacked when he was under the supervision of his grandparents. The dog that attacked belonged to the grandparents. The victim was brought to the hospital in a critical condition and died the next day during the night of the 23rd and 24th of October. The dog was euthanized on the same day as the attack. [26][27]
July 1, 2019 Name undisclosed, <2 years, Male Pit bull Mexico City, Mexico — Victim was attacked and killed by a pit bull that was kept tied up on a roof. Victim died on scene. The dog was taken into custody.[28] Photo of dog.[29]
March 20, 2019 Iat, 75, Female 6 Pit bulls Bangkok, Thailand — The victim's family returned home to find the 75-year-old grandmother had been attacked and mauled by the family's six pit bull terriers. The woman was found dead, lying in a pool of blood outside the house, having been bitten all over. The dogs were put back in their cage.[30]
July, 2018 Name undisclosed, Age undisclosed, Young male American Bulldog Bergslagen, Sweden — A young man was bit severely on the neck by a dog in Ljusnarsberg. Two men were attacked, one was uninjured, but the younger man died from his injuries.[31]
June 17, 2017 Undisclosed name, Adult, Male 12 stray dogs Sovetsky, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Russia — A drunk man, who had been feeding a pack of stray dogs for two years, was attacked and killed by them when he tried to pass the pack without feeding them and fell during the encounter. His remains were found the following morning. The incident was captured on CCTV. He reportedly died just two minutes after the first dog attacked.[32]
April 18, 2017 Undisclosed name, 40, Female Presa Canario El Molar, Madrid, Spain — Victim was found dead in her home; she had been attacked by one of her Presa Canarios and died from bites to the neck. The woman lived alone and was a breeder of Pit bulls and Presa Canarios. The dog was seized.[33]
August 18, 2015 Elizabeth Claire Wright, F, 55 Rottweilers (3) Watamu, Kenya, Africa — The Kenyan husband of the English victim came home to find his wife dead and the three dogs feeding on her body. The husband said he'd warned her to stay away from the dogs, and it was presumed she had opened their cage to feed them. Victim had been visiting her husband at his Kenya beachside home from her home in England where she worked at a school.[34]
June 4, 2017 Teresa McDonagh, F, 64 Presa Canario (3) County Galway, Ireland — Victim had gone to visit her grandchildren and was found face-down in the lane by her daughter-in-law, the dogs' owner. The dogs had a previous history of aggression including puncturing the postman's tyres. A breeding pair of adult dogs, which weighed 43–46 kilograms (95–101 lb), and one of their puppies were involved. Victim sustained broken bones, massive injuries, and died of hemorrhagic shock. The inquest jury endorsed recommendations to add the breed to the list of dangerous or restricted dog breeds, and mandate muzzling, licensing, and training.[35]
June 26, 2000 Volkan Kaja, M, 6 Staffordshire Bull Terrier (1) + Pit bull (1) Hamburg, Germany — Two dogs jumped into a schoolyard and attacked about 10 children, leaving two injured and one dead. The dogs were shot dead by responding police and two people were arrested.[36][37] Following this, another fatal dog attack earlier the same year, and a long series of serious injuries caused by fighting dogs, the German government enacted laws banning certain breeds, including penalties of up to 100,000 Deutsche Marks ($48,100 USD).[38][39]
