Loyola Collegiate School, Jamshedpur, is a private Catholic primary and secondary school located in Jamshedpur, in the state of Jharkhand, India. Founded by the Jesuits in 2015, the school provides an education to students from kindergarten through standard 12, and receives no government aid.[1]

Overview[]

The governing board consists entirely of members of the Society of Jesus.[2] The school is located on five acres (two point zero hectares) on the campus of the Loyola College of Education, Jamshedpur, and employs intern teachers from the college.[3][4][5] Admission is ordinarily at the LKG or UKGlevel, and after that depends on openings and on the child's likelihood to succeed.[6]

While open to all students, the school provides faith formation for Catholic students through religion classes in the curriculum and through optional Masses and retreats.[1] Loyola is an English-medium school, and Hindi language is taught daily. Students are prepared for the ICSE (grade 10) and ISC (grade 12) Indian School Certificate Examinations. There is an emphasis in the curriculum on "socially useful productive work", including a required course of that name in the curriculum.[7] In March 2015 classes began at the LKG and UKG levels.[3][8]
