Lucknow Municipal Corporation (Hindi: Lucknow Nagar Nigam) is the Municipal Corporation responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The organization is known, in short, as LMC. This civic administrative body administers the city's cleanliness and other public services like public health, clean streets and parks. The head of the LMC is the mayor. The present mayor is Sanyukta Bhatia while the present commissioner is Ajay kumar Dwivedi(IAS).[1]

On 2 December 2020, Lucknow Municipal Corporation got listed on Bombay Stock Exchange, becoming the first civic body in north India to issue bonds under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).[2]

Organization[]

LMC consists of 110 wards[3] for which elections are held every five years to select the corporators. Various political parties nominate their candidates and people of respective wards cast their votes during elections to elect the corporator for their ward.
