Lucy Troisi (About this soundlisten) is a Canadian politician, who was appointed to Toronto City Council.[1] She represented former Ward 28 in the City of Toronto, which had been vacant since the death of Pam McConnell in July 2017, during the period November 2017 to November 2018.[1]

Troisi grew up in Regent Park and lives in Cabbagetown.[2]

At the time of her appointment to council, Troisi was executive director of the Cabbagetown Youth Centre.[3] She previously served as a manager in the city's parks, forestry and recreation division from 1996 to 2005.[4]

She won the appointment on the second ballot, in a council vote that split along ideological lines between conservative (primarily suburban) councillors who favoured Troisi, and progressive (primarily 'downtown') councillors who favoured activist and McConnell staffer Michael Creek.[1]

When appointed, Troisi said she would not run in the 2018 Toronto municipal election. She later changed her mind and ran in Toronto Centre Ward 13 against Kristyn Wong-Tam, another incumbent as a result of the decision by the provincial government to reduce the number of wards. Troisi placed third behind Wong-Tam and former MPP George Smitherman.[5]
