Luhan or Lugan (Ukrainian: Лугань, romanizedLuhan, Russian: Лугань, romanizedLugan; also known as Luhanka or Luganka, Cyrillic: Луганка) is a river in Ukraine, a right tributary of the Seversky Donets, in the basin of the Don. It is 198 kilometres (123 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 3,740 square kilometres (1,440 sq mi).[1] It has given its name to the city of Luhansk, that is situated around the river. The Luhan river rises in the eastern part of Horlivka in Donetsk Oblast.
