Marlowe is an upcoming neo-noir thriller film written by William Monahan and directed by Neil Jordan. It is based on the 2014 novel The Black-Eyed Blonde by John Banville and stars Liam Neeson as private detective Philip Marlowe, a fictional character created by Raymond Chandler. The film also stars Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Alan Cumming, Danny Huston, Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Daniela Melchior, and François Arnaud. It is scheduled to be released in 2023.

Marlowe is actor Liam Neeson's 100th film.[1] On March 13, 2017, Neeson was announced to star as Detective Philip Marlowe, a fictional character created by Raymond Chandler. The film was written by William Monahan, based on the 2014 novel The Black-Eyed Blonde by Irish author John Banville.[2] In June 2021, Neil Jordan signed on to direct.[3] Principal photography took place for two months, starting in November 2021.[4][5] The cast was revealed that same month.[6][7] Filming for exterior scenes set in Los Angeles took place in Barcelona, Spain,[8] while interior scenes were shot in Dublin, Ireland.[9] According to actor and executive producer Patrick Muldoon, the film is scheduled to be released in 2023.[10]
