Maximiliano 'Maxi' Brian Rolón (born 19 January 1995) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for Iraqi Premier League team, Al-Diwaniya[1] as a left winger.

Club career[]

Barcelona[]

Born in Rosario, Rolón started his youth career with local club Atlético Luján. In 2007, he joined FC Barcelona's youth setup, but only moved to La Masia three years later.[2] In 2013, however, he was loaned to UE Cornellà due to his non-EU status; he subsequently returned to Barça in January 2014, being assigned to the Juvenil A squad.[3]

In May 2014 Rolón was promoted to the reserves in Segunda División.[4] After being strongly linked to a possible loan move to Lleida Esportiu in August,[5] he remained at the club and made his debut as a professional on 4 October, replacing Juan Cámara in the 74th minute of a 0–1 home loss against CD Lugo.[6]

On 20 September 2015, with the team now in Segunda División B, Rolón scored his first senior goal, the game's only away to UE Olot for a first victory of the season.[7] On 1 February of the following year, however, he rescinded his contract.[8]

Santos[]

On 16 February 2016, Rolón agreed to a one-year deal with Brazilian club Santos FC.[9] He only signed his contract on 4 March, due to bureaucratic problems.[10]

Rolón made his debut for the club on 21 April 2016, coming on as a late substitute for Rafael Longuine in a 1–1 away draw against Santos-AP.[11] On 6 July, after receiving very little playing time, he rescinded his contract.[12]

Lugo[]

On 31 January 2017 Rolón returned to Spain and its second level, after signing a six-month deal with CD Lugo.[13] After only 2 games played, he left the club again at the end of his contract in the summer 2017.[14]

CE Pubilla Casas[]

On 27 November 2018, Rolón joined Spanish club CE Pubilla Casas.[15] He played two games for the club, scoring three goals, one of them on penalty.[16]

International career[]

Rolón was called up for the Argentina under-20's in August 2014, for the year's L'Alcúdia International Football Tournament.[17] He appeared regularly during the tournament, also playing against the Catalans in one of the matches.[18]

Personal life[]

Rolón's twin brother, Leonardo, is also a footballer. A right back or right winger, he plays for Vélez Sarsfield.[3]
