Boone signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2018.[4][5] After an impressive preseason where he finished fourth in the league with 195 rushing yards, he made the Vikings 53-man roster and made his NFL debut in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills. In the 27–6 loss, he had two carries for 11 rushing yards.[6] He finished his rookie season with 11 carries for 47 yards.[7]

2020[]

In Week 4 of the 2020 season against the Houston Texans, Boone forced a fumble on punt returner DeAndre Carter which was recovered by the Vikings during the 31–23 win. Boone was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Week 4. [11]

On March 18, 2021, Boone signed a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos.[12] He was placed on injured reserve on September 1, 2021 to start the season.[13] He was activated on October 16.[14]
