Mohsin Khan (born October 26, 1991) is an Indian television actor known for portraying the role of Kartik Goenka in Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.[2]

Early life

Mohsin Khan is a Gujarati Muslims, who was born in Nadiad, Gujarat. Initially, he was named Waseem, but soon, his father changed his name to Mohsin Khan.[3] He has a strong connection to Gujarat because of fond memories of his childhood years in Nadiad and tries to visit his family there, regularly.[4][5] His family includes his father Abdul Waheed Khan, mother Mehzabin Khan, sister Zeba Ahmed, brother-in-law Dr. Taha Ahmed and younger brother Sajjad Khan.[6][7]

Mohsin has completed his schooling from Children's Academy, Mumbai. After that he enrolled in Mithibai College, Mumbai.

During his college days, Mohsin started doing advertisements, cameos and parallel leads in a few shows.[8]

His first appearance on television was in an advertisement for Ceat tyres, when he was 18, which gained him a paycheck of Rs. 10,000.[9]

Career

Khan started his career as the second assistant director on the film Koyelaanchal.[10] He made his television debut with Star Plus's Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, but rose to fame playing Kartik Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, opposite Shivangi Joshi.[11][12]

Media

In 2017, Mohsin was the highest placed newcomer in Eastern Eye's 50 Sexiest Asian Men in the world, holding seventeenth place.[13]

In 2018, he was placed at the sixth spot in the list of Sexiest Asian Men,[14] and was ranked fifth in Biz Asia's TV Personality List.[15]

Khan was ranked in The Times Most Desirable Men at No. 46 in 2018,[16] at No. 43 in 2019[17] as well as 2020.[18]

In 2020, he was ranked at No. 5 in The Times 20 Most Desirable Men on Television 2020.[19]
