Monroe County Schools (Tennessee)

Monroe County Schools is a school district in Tennessee, serving Monroe County. Its headquarters are in Madisonville.[1]

Residents of Sweetwater are served by Sweetwater City Schools for elementary through junior high school.

In 2013 the district had 5,500 students in its schools.[2]

History[]

In 2007 Mike Lowry became the director of the school district. In 2013 Lowry died suddenly, prompting the district board to nominate someone as the interim director.[2]
