Mufti Saiful Islām (6 August 1974) is an Islamic scholar and the founder, principal and director of the Jamiah Khatamun Nabiyeen. He is also the editor of "Al Mu'min", a family magazine.[1]

Early life and education[]

Islām was born on 6 August 1974 in the small village of Duhal in the town of Bishwanath, district Sylhet, Bangladesh.[2] He was initially given the name Shamsul Islām by the elders of his family but later his uncle kept his permanent name as Saiful Islām. On 1 March 1981, Saiful Islām's father decided to take the family to the UK where they settled in the city of Bradford.[citation needed]

Aged 13, Saiful Islām memorized the Quran at the Tawak'kulia Jāmi Masjid in Bradford in 1987. In 1988, he entered Darul Uloom Bury and graduated in the traditional dars-e-nizami in 1995.[citation needed] He studied Sahih Bukhari with Islāmul-Haq Muhajir Madani, Sahih Muslim with Yusuf Motala, Sunan Abu Dawud with Hāshim Jhoghwari, Tirmidhi with Shabbir Pātel, Sunan Nasai with Bilāl Bawa and Sunan ibn Majah with Abdur Raheem Limbada. He specialized in the Islamic jurisprudence in 1996. His other teachers include Tāhir Soofi, Saleem Dhorat and Muhammad Umārji.[citation needed]

Career[]

In 1996, Saiful Islām established Jamiah Khatamun Nabiyeen (JKN) from his residence.[citation needed] He serves as the principal and director of JKN.[citation needed] He is also the editor of "Al Mu'min Magazine".[citation needed] He is the president of Tawak'kulia Jāmi Masjid; chairperson of Al-Kawthar Welfare Foundation; secretary of Jamiatul Ulamā Bangladesh in UK branch; vice-chairperson of Majlis Tahaffuz-e-Khatme-Nabuwwat (Bradford) and vice-chairperson of Izhār-e-Haq in Oldham.[citation needed] He is also the patron of Al Mu'min Primary School, Olive Secondary Schools for both boys & girls, Al-Hudā Academy in Oldham and Al Hidaayah Foundation in Keighley.[citation needed] Saiful Islām established Jāmiah Zakariyya, situated in Bishwanath Upazila, Sylhet District and Jāmiah Al-Kawthar, which is situated in Netrokona District.[citation needed]

Saiful Islām has been teaching the Qur'an and Islamic sciences since his student years at the Darul Uloom Bury.[citation needed] He has taught various Islamic sciences at the JKN. His compiled works include Your Questions Answered,[3] Heroes of Islam, Pearls of the Prophet – Commentary on the Sahih Bukhari, Pearls of Wisdom, Miracle of the Holy Qur'an, Stories for Children, Islamic Poems, Clear Proofs of Allāh, Who is the Monkey?, The Miracles of the Holy Prophet, What's with the Monkey Business?, Ziyārat of Madeenah Munawwarah and Ādābul Muāsharāt.[citation needed] He is a scholar of classical learning in Islam and has promoted Islamic sciences and classical teaching methodologies.[4]

His books include Du'ā for Beginners, Hadeeth for Beginners, How Well Do You know Islām?, Arabic for Beginners, Marriage – A Complete Solution, A Gift to My Youngsters, Treasures of the Holy Qur'an, Pearls of Luqmān, Advice for the Students of Knowledge and Travel Companion.[citation needed]
