Dr. Nagendra (9 March 1915 – 27 October 1999) was an Indian poet and critic of modern Hindi literature. He was a settled intellectual and a deep analyst and is considered a great scholar of poetry.[1][2][3][4]

Birth and education[]

Nagendra, was born in March 1915 AD in Atrauli, Uttar Pradesh, India. He did an MA in English and Hindi and a D.Litt in Hindi.[3]

Vertical[]

Nagendra's literary career begins as a poet. In 1937 AD, his first collection of poetry 'Vanbala' was published.[2] In this, songs and poems of the student period are stored. After doing his MA, he was a teacher of English in Delhi's Commerce College for ten years and also worked at All India Radio for five years.[3] Later he retired from the post of chairman in the Hindi department of Delhi University and started living there. He died on 27 October 1999 in New Delhi.[4][3]
