Nasty Savage is an American thrash metal band from Brandon, Florida, United States.[2] The band rose to popularity primarily due to singer "Nasty" Ronnie Galetti's over-the-top stage show performances (in early shows Ronnie smashed television sets over his head).[2] The band was extremely influential in the emergence of the Florida death metal scene, inspiring bands such as Death and Obituary.[3] The second album featuring the hit single "XXX" was recorded at Progressive Music in Tampa. These recordings helped to get the band signed with heavy metal label Metal Blade Records.[2] After releasing three albums and one EP between 1985 and 1989 they broke up.[2] After there had been speculation about a reunion for some time, an album of new material was released in the spring of 2004. Since then, the band has played occasional live shows. In January 2016, it was reported that Nasty Savage was planning to record a new album in the summer of that year.[4] There had been no updates on the new album within the next five years, until Metal Storm reported in September 2021 that it was planned for release later in the year or in 2022.[5]

As of September 2020, Dave Austin is known to be a frequent caller of "Drew Garabo Live" on 102.5 The Bone to give his two cents, when needed.
