Natasha Oakley (born July 14, 1990) is an Australian Instagram model. Originally known for the blog that she founded with her close friend and business partner ,[1] Oakley went on to launch retail brand in 2014.[2]

Early life[]

Oakley was born and grew up in Bronte, New South Wales, Australia.[3] She lived in Miami for three years from age 10 and spent two years in Maui, where she met business partner Brugman in 2009,[4] before relocating to Los Angeles to launch her production company, Datreats Productions.[5]

In 2010, at the age of 20, Oakley launched her production company, Datreats Productions, in Los Angeles.[5]

In 2012,[1] Oakley and her business partner Brugman founded A Bikini A Day as a lifestyle blog that shared a photo of a new swimsuit each day.[4] After gathering a large following,[1] Oakley and Brugman launched their own swimwear brand, MONDAY Swimwear, in 2014.[6]

The pair has designed product collaborations for several international brands, including Guess,[7] Missguided UK, BikBok,[8] and Wildfox,[2] as well as partnered with thousands of others, such as Tory Burch,[9] ,[9] and .[2]

MONDAY Swimwear's first collection sold out in two days[6] and new ones are released biannually utilizing a direct-to-consumer e-commerce model.[2] Since launch, MONDAY has expanded into beachwear[2] and been named one of the top seven US swimwear brands for women by the Evening Standard.[10]

The MONDAY brand is known for eschewing logos and seasonal trends, instead of centering its designs around flattering fits[11] and showcasing healthy rather than overly thin models.[3]

Oakley has partnered with dozens of brands as an ambassador, including American Express Platinum,[12] La Mer,[13] Bonds Australia,[citation needed] Seafolly Australia,[14] St. Tropez Tan,[15] Sunglass Hut,[citation needed] and Carolina Herrera[16]

Oakley has been featured on the cover of several international magazines, including Cosmopolitan Australia,[17] Cosmopolitan Finland,[18] Women’s Health UK,[19] Women’s Health Germany,[20] ,[21] Arcadia Magazine,[22] and Women’s Health Fitness Magazine.[23] Natasha also appeared on 60 Minutes with Peter Stefanovic in August 2017.[24]

Awards / recognitions[]

Oakley claims 2 million Instagram followers on her personal account as of August 2018. Glamour interviewed her among seven of the US’s top athleisure clothing designers in July 2017.[25] In May 2017, Natasha’s company MONDAY Swimwear was named one of the top seven swimwear brands for women by the Evening Standard.[10]

Personal life and family[]

Both of Oakley's parents are successful entrepreneurs.[9] Her mother started her own business at the age of 18, the same age Natasha was when she launched her production company.[9]

Her mother Lynette received the title Miss Australia in 1980[9] and went on to win Miss Universe - Photogenic.[citation needed]

Oakley's father Guy is an Australian surf champion[citation needed] and is now a private detective[5]

She has an older sister called Samantha and a younger half-sister Sophia, through her mother.
