Neutral Yer (Majuscule: Ꙏ, Minuscule: ꙏ) is used in transcribing documents when it is hard to tell the difference between a Ь and a Ъ.[citation needed] It was common in Late Medieval Russian archival materials and scripts.[citation needed]
The appearance looks like a Yer with a hook on the top.
