Nguyễn Tiến Linh (born 20 October 1997) is a Vietnamese footballer who plays as a striker for V.League 1 club Becamex Bình Dương and Vietnam national football team.[2]
In 2021, Tiến Linh was nominated by a panel of sports journalists and football experts for Best Footballer in Asia.[3] He is considered one of the best Vietnamese footballers of his generation.
After scoring one goal for the Vietnam national football team in the match vs the China national football team, he broke the record of Lê Công Vinh to be the player of Vietnam national football team to score most goals in the FIFA World Cup qualification tournament with 8 goals[4]
Early life[]
Tien Linh was born and raised in Cam Hoang commune, Cam Giang district, Hai Duong. Cam Giang's hometown was too difficult, so his mother had to export labor to Korea since he was 2 years old. At the age of 6, when he was in grade 1, he followed his father to Binh Duong to live and make a living. His mother returned when he was 9 years old. Currently, the family opens a football cafe in Thuan An town[5]
