Nilsson Rocks

Nilsson Rocks (

71°45′S 67°42′E / 71.750°S 67.700°E / -71.750; 67.700Coordinates: 71°45′S 67°42′E / 71.750°S 67.700°E / -71.750; 67.700) is a group of fairly low rock outcrops which enclose a meltwater lake, situated 17 kilometres (9 nmi) south of Fisher Massif in the Prince Charles Mountains.

History[]

The group was plotted from air photos taken by ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions) aircraft in 1956.

They were named by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) for , a physicist at Mawson Station in 1957.[1]
