OLM, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社オー・エル・エム, Hepburn: Kabushiki-gaisha Ō Eru Emu), formerly Oriental Light and Magic, is a Japanese animation and film studio headquartered in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan,^[1] founded on October 3, 1990.

Establishment[]

Founded on October 3, 1990, by Toshiaki Okuno, Shūkichi Kanda, Shōji Ōta, Kunihiko Yuyama, Naohito Takahashi, Yuriko Chiba, Nobuyuki Wasaki, Tsukasa Koitabashi, and Takaya Mizutani, OLM have worked on several anime series, with Pokémon as their most prominent work. As of 2018, the animation studio is composed of eleven teams, which are led by Tsukasa Koitabashi, Nobuyuki Wasaki, Yasuteru Kamei, Hiroyuki Katō, Takashi Inoue, Isamu Abe, Daisuke Yoshioka, Ryōsuke Sakurai, Manabu Kawakita, Go Sawada, and Misako Saka.

In 1995, OLM representative director Toshiaki Okuno founded OLM Digital, which became the main CG work company behind a majority of OLM's works. Toshiaki Okuno stands as both companies' representative director.

In 2007, members of Team Iwasa, including team leader Gaku Iwasa, rebranded their studio as White Fox.

OLM have expanded their business into the field of TV drama and live action feature films, producing titles like Shield of Straw.
