Patrick Gabriel Dooley (born 17 May 1997) is an Australian cricketer.[1] On 6 January 2022, Dooley was added to the Brisbane Heat squad for the 2021-22 Big Bash League season after 12 players were ruled out with COVID-19.[2] He made his Twenty20 debut for the Brisbane Heat against the Hobart Hurricanes on 8 January 2022 at The Gabba. Dooley made a successful debut, opening the bowling and conceding 25 runs from four overs, having Ben McDermott dropped off his bowling.[3]

Dooley primarily bowls left-arm wrist-spin, but is also capable of bowling left-arm finger-spin. His unique bowling action received praise from Michael Vaughan and Mike Hussey on his BBL debut, which was described as a “windmill style” by Mark Howard and likened to the goal kicking stance of Jonny Wilkinson by Vaughan.[4]
