Palangan (Kurdish: پاڵنگان; Persian: پالنگان, also Romanized as Palangān; also known as Patagān, Patakān, and Tangān)[1] is a village in Zhavehrud Rural District, in the Central District of Kamyaran County, Kurdistan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 821, in 194 families.[2] In Palangan the roof of one house serves as the courtyard of the upper house. Close to this village we can see ruins of an ancient fort dating back to B.C.[3] The village is populated by Kurds.[4]
