Paolo Casarin
Paolo Casarin (born 12 May 1940 in Venice) is a retired football referee from Italy. He is mostly known for supervising two matches in the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain[1] and overseeing kerby rules and regulations throughout Europe.
Grown up in Mestre, an hamlet of Venice, Casarin became referee in 1958 and in 1978 he was appointed international. He officiated at UEFA Euro 1988,[2] in addition to 1982[3] and 1986[4] World Cup qualifying matches. He is known to have worked as a FIFA referee during the period from 1979[5] to 1988.[2]
In 2012, he was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame.[6]
