The Perth Montessori School, now Perth Individual College, is a Montessori education centre for children in Perth, Western Australia. The school maintains several properties on a block in suburban Burswood.

History[]

The school began in 1980 as the Victoria Park Montessori Playgroup, before becoming the Montessori Children's Centre with the opening of the first Children's House, Hibiscus, in 1982. Anne Zekas was the first principal. The Centre expanded throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, increasing the size of its primary education facilities and obtaining a second property, which now houses an after-school minding service and playgroup.

In 2000, Gary Pears joined the School as the Principal and the Centre changed its name to the Perth Montessori School.

The school again expanded in 2006 acquiring an adjoining property on Burswood Road, which now houses the Administration department and the Cycle 3 and 4 classes along with other ancillary teaching area.

The school now has an on-site Playgroup (0 – 3 years), 2 Cycle 1 Classes (3 - 6 Years), 2 Cycle 2 Classes (6 – 9 years) and 1 Cycle 3 Class (9 – 12 years), 1 cycle 4 class (12-14) and 1 cycle 5 class (14-17).

The school first began accepting secondary enrolments in 2007.
