Petroleum Marketers Association of America

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Petroleum Marketers of America was a federation of U.S. state and regional trade associations based in the Nation's Capital. These associations represent petroleum marketers who sell fuel and heating oil to the public. In October of 2020, The Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA) became the Energy Marketers of America (EMA).[1]

EMA is a federation of state and regional trade associations. EMA member associations represent independent energy marketers.[2] Independent energy marketers are not Big Oil but rather are small independent retailers that sell heating oil, gasoline and related products and services.

Based in Arlington, Virginia, EMA works to represent the business interests of its member associations before Congress, regulatory agencies and other Federal Government entities. EMA represents its members by running an annual 'Day on The Hill' event, publishing EMA Journal and operating a Political Action Committee called The EMA Small Business Committee[3] EMA holds its annual meeting each year at the National Association of Convenience Store's Annual Trade Show[4] call NACS Show.

PMOCO:

In addition to representing marketers needs in Washington, D.C., PMAA holds a majority interest in PMOCO, LLC. PMOCO is a for profit LLC whose mission is to own and operate a national retailing brand called the Spirit® Petroleum.[5] Formed in 2002, Spirit Brand gasoline and convenience stores now operate coast-to-coast.
