In late 2021, a local of the town was arrested for the killing of Sheldon Paccione and his mother. Perpetrated by a man named Giuseppe Platania, police say, he was arrested after they were notified of his social media posts threatening the lives of multiple people, including former president of the United States, Donald Trump.
