The Presidential Palace, officially known as the Kadriorg Administrative Building, is a Baroque Revival building located in Kadriorg, Tallinn. The building serves as the official residence of the President of Estonia.[1][2]
History[]
The building was designed by Alar Kotli and completed in 1937. The first president to reside in the palace was Konstantin Päts; following the Soviet takeover of Estonia in 1940, he spent most of his life in psychiatric institutions.[3][4][5] Echoing the style of Kadriorg Palace, this grand building was purpose-built in 1938 to serve as the official residence of the Estonian president. It is not open to the public.[1]
