In Greek mythology, Protomedea or Protomedia (Ancient Greek: Πρωτομέδεια Prôtomedeia) was one of the 50 Nereids, marine-nymph daughters of the 'Old Man of the Sea' Nereus and the Oceanid Doris.[1] Her name means 'the first ruleress'[2] or 'first queen, first counsel'.[3]
