Qorakoʻl also spelled as Karakul (Uzbek: Qorakoʻl/Қоракўл, قارەكول; Russian: Каракуль) is a city in the Bukhara Region of Uzbekistan. It is the capital of Qorakoʻl District (Qorakoʻl tumani).[1] "Qorakoʻl" means "black lake" in Uzbek language. The town population in 2005 year was approximately 20,900 people.[2]
