Radhe Shyam is an upcoming Indian period sci-fi romantic drama film written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. It is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages.[3][4] The film is produced by UV Creations, Gopi Krishna Movies and T-Series.[5] Set in Europe of the 1970s, the film's music is scored by Justin Prabhakaran with cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

Principal photography of the film commenced on 6 October 2018 with filming taking place in Hyderabad, Italy and Georgia. Originally planned for a release on 30 July 2021, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now scheduled to release on 14 January 2022, coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi.[1]

Production

The film was launched on 5 September 2018 tentatively titled as #Prabhas20.[13] Veteran actress Bhagyashree is cast in a crucial role in the film.[14] The film is a romantic drama set in 1970's Europe.[15]

Principal photography commenced on 6 October 2018.[16] Filming took place in Hyderabad, Turin (Italy) and Georgia, after which it was suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.[17] Filming resumed in Italy in October 2020.[18] In December 2020, few crucial scenes were shot at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad.[19] Final schedule of the film began on 25 June 2021 in Hyderabad.[20][21][22] Filming was completed on 28 July 2021.[citation needed]

Music

Release

The film was originally scheduled to release on 30 July 2021, however, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.[23] Later in July 2021, it was announced that the film will be released on 14 January 2022, coinciding with the festival of Sankranti, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Japanese and Chinese languages.[24][25]
