Raviv Zoller (Hebrew: רביב צולר)(born March 7, 1964) is an Israeli business executive. He is president and chief executive officer of ICL Group Ltd.[1] Zoller was chief executive officer of IDI Insurance Company Ltd. and a founding member of Ness Digital Engineering.[2]

Biography[]

Raviv Zoller was born on Kibbutz Dalia. His father, Uri Zoller, was a professor of organic chemistry, and his mother, Tamar, was a psychologist.[3] At the age of 13, his family left the kibbutz for Haifa.[4] He attended Bosmat, a technology high school in Haifa. Later the family moved to the United States, where he went to a public high school and studied for a year at University of Georgia. Upon returning to Israel, Zoller served as an officer in the Israeli Navy.[5] He earned a BA degree in Economics and Accounting from Tel Aviv University, where he also studied for a master's degree.[6] He is a qualified CPA.[4]

Zoller is married to Miri, a couples therapist,[7] with whom he has two daughters. The family lives in Ramat Efal.[4]

Business career[]

In 1989–1991, Zoller completed his internship in accounting at Shahak & Co., now part of PwC. In 1991–1999, he was a partner in the accounting firm Zoller, Radiano & Co.[8]

After several years in finance and economics, Zoller expanded into investment banking. He was among the founders of the investment bank Apex-Mutavim, which later became Meitav-Dash.[9]

In 1999, he founded Ness Technologies Inc. together with the Wolfson family, orchestrating a merger of five technology companies.[2] Ness Technologies was listed on NASDAQ in 2004, and the company and its shareholders raised $160 million. This was the largest Israeli IPO on NASDAQ since 2001.[10] Zoller accelerated international expansion and focused on recruiting senior managers from the regions where the company operated.[11]

During Zoller's tenure as chief executive officer, the company was awarded key projects (SAP-based enterprise resource planning system for government and leading Israeli companies, the Courts Network project, pharma systems, banking systems and more),[12] and expanded globally,[13] to become one of the leading international IT companies.[14] Ness Technologies held conferences attended by Bill Clinton,[15] Al Gore[16] and Rudy Giuliani.[17] In 2005, the company received the Israel Defense Prize for its development of a "cutting edge visual intelligence system."[18][19]

In 2007, Zoller was appointed chairman of the board of Clal Underwriting Ltd.[20]

In 2008, Zoller was appointed chief executive officer of IDI Insurance, operator of "Bituah Yashir." The company was listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in 2012. Under Zoller, the company underwent a process of digital transformation,[21] increasing its value from NIS 450 million to NIS 3.5 billion.[1]

In 2018, Zoller was appointed president and chief executive officer of Israel Chemicals, now the ICL Group.[22] He implemented a new strategy that required organizational change.[23] New processes were deployed as the company entered into its digital development phase.[4] ICL shares are dually listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The company employs over 11,000 people worldwide, with sales in 2018 totaling approximately $5.6 billion.[24] In addition to its mining and marketing of potash and phosphate,[25] the ICL Group has become part of the global food production chain, venturing into new areas such as the meat substitute market.[26]

Social activism[]

Zoller was co-chairman of the Ethiopian National Project (ENP), a non-profit organization promoting integration of the Israeli Ethiopian community into Israeli society.[27]

Awards and recognition[]

In 2004, Zoller received an award from the Max Perlman Center of the Graduate School of Management at Tel Aviv University for excellence in global management.[28] In 2016, Zoller was named one of Israel's leading chief executive officers by Calcalist newspaper.[29]
