He competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.

He was born to a Jewish Family and died in Vienna.

In 1936 he won the gold medal in the lightweight class after sharing the win with Anwar Mesbah. He was Jewish; he was one of a number of Jewish athletes who won medals at the Nazi Olympics in Berlin in 1936.[1]

In 1937 he was decorated with the Gold Medal for Service to the Republic of Austria.[2]
