Roger Beyker Martínez Tobinson (American Spanish: [ˈroʝeɾ maɾˈtines]; born 23 June 1994) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liga MX club América and the Colombia national team.
Club career[]
Martínez was born in Cartagena, Colombia.
Villarreal CF[]
In January 2018, La Liga side Villarreal announced the signing of Martínez on loan from Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning with a purchase option for the end of the season.[1][2] In June 2018, Villarreal exercised the option to sign Martínez and immediately sold him to Liga MX side Club América.[3][4]
América[]
In June 2018, Martinez was confirmed by Liga MX side Club América as their newest signing from Villarreal. His debut was on 22 July 2018 against Club Necaxa, scoring his first goal in the 2-1 defeat.
International career[]
Martínez was included in coach José Pekerman's squad for the Copa América Centenario. He made his debut with Colombia on 29 May 2016 in a friendly match against Haiti, scoring Colombia's third goal in their 3–1 win.
