Ryan Williams (born 22 June 1994), commonly known as R-Willy, is mainly an Australian freestyle scooter and freestyle bmx rider. However, more broadly his occupation can be defined as action sports athlete. Williams is from and resides in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

Williams, in 2019, purchased 40-acres of land in his native Sunshine Coast to build a large action sports facility for Australian athletes to train. Williams named it "R-Willy Land".[2]

Career[]

Williams' signature scooter.

Ryan Williams' career started in 2006 at the age of 12[3] with riding scooters at his local skatepark in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. At age 15 he started on BMX after discovering a passion for doing big air tricks. Williams' success grew even farther when he joined the Nitro Circus team in 2009. He has since achieved 7 gold medals on scooter and BMX in big air and best trick events at both the Nitro World Games and the X Games.[4]
