The SEAT Mii is a city car produced by the Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT since 2011. It is part of the Volkswagen Group New Small Family (NSF) series of models. It is the successor of the SEAT Arosa which was produced from 1997 to 2004.

SEAT Mii production started limited in October 2011 in the European market with its sales starting in the fourth trimester 2011 and deliveries already on December 2011. The final version will launch around May 2012.

Although the 3-door model was the first version to be presented in 2011, currently there is also the 5-door model available, while an automatic gearbox and gas motor fitted version should come later in 2012. Two 3-cylinder 1.0 L petrol engine options are offered with 44 kW (60 PS; 59 hp) or 55 kW (75 PS; 74 hp), but further Ecomotive variants as well as electric powertrains are expected too. Boot space is 251 litres (8.9 cu ft), and 951 litres (33.6 cu ft) with the rear seats folded down.

The car shares the same Volkswagen Group NSF platform[1] with the Volkswagen up! and the Škoda Citigo, as a result of the New Small Family project under which all three models are built together at the VW Group's Slovakian plant in Bratislava. Along with its two sisters, the Mii is the first car in its class to offer an automated braking system, which is automatically activated at speeds below 30 km/h (19 mph) as a laser sensor identifies a danger of collision and activate the brakes. The standard safety equipment also comprises four airbags.

In 2011, the SEAT Mii was evaluated for its safety performance under the Euro NCAP assessment scheme and it achieved a 5-star overall rating:[2]

Even though SEAT was working on the SEAT e-Mii since 2013 when it aired on a catalan tv show,[3] the electric version of the SEAT Mii was presented for the first time in the form of an advanced prototype in February 2017 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with a small series of vehicles built for a car sharing project testing new car connectivity features around the city..[4][5]

The definitive electric version named SEAT Mii electric was launched in 2019 and it was SEAT's first production all-electric vehicle.[6]

In 2014, SEAT collaborated with the Spanish clothing company Mango in the scope of creating a fashion-driven Mii aimed to appeal to women. This limited edition, unveiled at the 2014 080 Barcelona Fashion event, was available in two paint colors ('Deep Black', and the exclusive to the Mii by Mango edition 'Nude') and included touches both in the exterior as well as in the interior. A specific handy feature was integrated in the dash: a foldable hook on the glove box cover, meant for attaching handbags. Along with the launch of the model, a competition was held in designing the car accessories which would be handed over to the buyers of the limited edition.[7][8]


Sales and production figures

Since its launch in 2011, more than 150,000 SEAT Mii cars have been sold and produced.
