Sangeeta Samrat (transl. Musical Emperor) is a 1984 Indian Telugu-language romance film, produced by K. Shyamalamma under the Shyamala Films banner and directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.[1] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jaya Prada, with music composed by Ramesh Naidu.[2]

Plot[]

The film begins in a village where Gopi is an orphan, one that has a god gift talent for music. Everyone in the village is affectionate towards him due to his amicable nature, in turn, he too treats them as his own. Once on a wedding occasion, the bride invites her music mentor Viswanatha Sastry along with a friend Radha (Jaya Prada) an awesome dancer. Gopi adores Radha and requests to participate in his music when she heckles at him. Parallelly, Viswanatha Sastry gazes at Gopi's art and appeals to join as his disciple, which he accepts to win Radha's heart. So, Gopi proceeds towards the city. Soon, becomes a scholar with tenacity and dedication when Radha too loves him. Meanwhile, Narasimha Sastry a haughty scholar, always grudges against Viswanatha Sastry trains his children Poorna Chandra and Malini to vie with his opponent disciples. Unfortunately, Gopi is ostracized from the institute for the offense he has not done when Radha also loathes him, but later they realize his virtue. Now it's time for the cultural competitions in which Malini and Radha participate. Here, Narasimha Sastry swindles by marring the voice of Viswanatha Sastry. During that plight, Gopi guards his mentor's honor. Thereafter, Gopi & Radha make a world tour and triumph when Narasimha Sastry humiliates Viswanatha Sastry. So, he decides to prepare Gopi for nationals to acquire the title of Sangeeta Samrat. But being cognizant that Gopi is completely immersed in Radha's love, Viswanatha Sastry behests Radha to get discard from Gopi's life which she does so. Perfided Gopi becomes a drunkard which collapses Viswanatha Sastry. Therein, Gopi promises to establish his glory. During the time of competition, Gopi gets demotivated when Radha lands on time makes him win. At last, Viswanatha Sastry also understands the divine relation of the couple and even Narasimha Sastry also pleads pardon from him. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Gopi & Radha.
