Justice Chakravarthy is a 1984 Telugu-language legal drama film, produced and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao[2] under his Taraka Prabhu Films banner.[3] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Jayasudha, Sumalatha, Suhasini[4] and music composed by Ramesh Naidu.[5]

Plot[]

The film begins on Justice Chakravarthy (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) a disciple of justice, leads a happy life with his wife Jayanthi (Jayasudha), three children, Kalyan (again Akkineni Nageswara Rao) an advocate, Inspector Pavan Kumar (Murali Mohan) and a daughter Lakshmi (Suhasini). Chakravarthy loves his daughter a lot and couples up with a smart guy Pratap (Pratap Pothan). Soon after the marriage, it is revealed that Pratap is a hardcore criminal who had married Lakshmi only to protect himself from Judiciary. Once his henchman Ganganna (Arjan Janardhan Rao) is caught by Police and a case is filed in court. Pratap threatens Chakravarthy to give judgement in his favor but he refuses and sentences him. Here, enraged Pratap kills Lakshmi, creates it as an accident and cleverly escapes from the sentence using a cunning lawyer, Baroda Bachchan (Dasari Narayana Rao). Right now, Chakravarthy is suppressed to gives the judgement in the favor of Pratap for which his entire family leaves the house and his wife Jayanthi passes away. At present, Chakravarthy decides to take avenge, so, he slaughters Pratap and surrenders himself to Police. In the court, he agrees as guilty but suddenly, Baroda Bachchan arrives, turns the case and proves Chakravarthy as innocent. At that moment, Chakravarthy bursts out on Bachchan then he replies that Chakravarthy is unique and society needs him. But Chakravarthy could not accept it as his soul haunts him as a criminal. So, that night, he alone enters the court hall, stands in the witness box, prosecutes against him and gives a judgment of death sentence. Finally, the next day morning, Chakravarthy found dead in the court hall.
