Sean Goldberg (or Shon,[1] Hebrew: שון גולדברג; born 13 June 1995) is an Israeli footballer who plays as a defender for Maccabi Haifa and the Israel national under-21 team.[2]
Early life[]
Goldberg was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, to a family of Ashkenazi Jewish descent.[3]
Club career[]
Born in 1995, Goldberg started his football career with Maccabi Tel Aviv youth team. On 1 July 2014, he was called up for Maccabi Tel Aviv football team.[4] On 26 October 2014, Goldberg made his professional league debut against Hapoel Acre at Acre Municipal Stadium, replacing Sheran Yeini at the 75th minute.[5] On 3 February 2015, Goldberg was loaned to Hapoel TA.[6] In the team, Goldberg played nine games. In the 2014/2015 season, Maccabi Tel Aviv achieved double : league and league cup. On 1 September 2015, Goldberg moved to Bnei Yehuda on loan until the end of 2016-17 season.[7]
On May 22, 2018 Goldberg left Beitar.
International career[]
Goldberg has represented his native Israel at various age groups. Since March 2015, he has been member of Israel national under-21 football team.
