Sebastian Sommer
Sebastian Sommer (born February 5, 1993) is an American filmmaker. Growing up in New York City, he studied Film at Tisch School of the Arts.[1][2]
Biography[]
His work has appeared in Vice,[3] Dazed,[4] Out,[5] Purple,[6] BlackBook,[7] and Filmmaker.[8]
Sommer is known for his prolific output of short films and his collaborations with high-profile figures[citation needed]. Much of Sommer's work is based around the surreal nature and absurdism involved in fashion, the internet, heartbreak, fame, and death[citation needed]. He has premiered some of his work at the Tribeca Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Guggenheim Museum, and The Standard.[9][10] Sommer was the assistant editor on Yosemite, a feature film starring James Franco.[11]
Paper named him one of "10 People to Follow on Instagram This Month" in May 2016.[12]
Nylon calls him a "filmmaker for the Tumblr generation".[13]
