Select Group
The Select Group is a panel of English professional football referees and assistant referees, appointed by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL).
Select Group 1[]
In June 2021, the Premier League announced four referee promotions and one assistant referee promotion ahead of the 2021–22 season. The list is composed of 22 referees and 28 assistant referees.[1]

Video Assistant Referees (VAR)[]
All Select Group 1 referees are also trained as video assistant referees. Following his on-field retirement, Lee Mason now serves as a dedicated video assistant referee.[2]
Assistant Video Assistant Referees (AVAR)[]
All Select Group 1 assistant referees are also trained as assistant video assistant referees. Three assistant referees have become AVARs following their on-field retirements, these are: Steve Child, Andy Garratt, and Andy Halliday.[3]
FIFA International Match Officials[]
Nine referees and eleven assistant referees are also on the FIFA International List.[4]
- Attwell, Bankes, Coote, England, Kavanagh, Madley, Oliver, Pawson, Taylor, and Tierney, serve as international referees.
- Bennett, Beswick, Betts, Burt, Cook, Davies, Hatzidakis, Hussin, Lennard, Massey-Ellis, and Nunn, serve as international assistant referees.
- Attwell, Bankes, Betts, Coote, England, Hatzidakis, Kavanagh, Madley, Massey-Ellis, Pawson, and Tierney, also serve as international video match officials.

Select Group match officials have overseen numerous major international matches, including:
2010 UEFA Champions League Final
Howard Webb led a team that was assisted by Darren Cann and Mike Mullarkey. Martin Atkinson was the fourth official.
2010 FIFA World Cup Final
Referee Howard Webb was supported by Darren Cann and Mike Mullarkey.
2012 Summer Olympics Gold Medal Match
Mark Clattenburg was helped by Simon Beck and Stephen Child.
2014 UEFA Super Cup
Joining Mark Clattenburg were assistant referees Simon Beck and Stuart Burt. Darren England was the fourth official. Additional assistant referees Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor were also part of the team.
2015 UEFA Europa League Final
Martin Atkinson headed a team that was supported by assistant referees Stephen Child and Mike Mullarkey. Additional assistant referees Andre Marriner and Anthony Taylor joined their colleagues.
2016 UEFA Champions League Final
Referee Mark Clattenburg was joined by assistant referees Simon Beck and Jake Collin. Additional assistant referees Andre Marriner and Anthony Taylor helped their colleagues.
UEFA Euro 2016 Final
Mark Clattenburg headed a team that was supported by Simon Beck and Jake Collin. Additional assistant referees Andre Marriner and Anthony Taylor joined their colleagues.
2020 UEFA Super Cup
Anthony Taylor led a team that was assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn. Stuart Attwell and Paul Tierney were video match officials.
2021 UEFA Nations League Final
Anthony Taylor was joined by assistant referees Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn. Craig Pawson served as the fourth official and Stuart Burt as reserve assistant referee. Stuart Attwell, Lee Betts, and Chris Kavanagh were video match officials.
Select Group 2[]
