Soratur also spelled as Soratooru is a village in the Gadag taluk of Gadag district in the Indian state of Karnataka.[1][2] It is located in the Gadag taluk of Gadag district in Karnataka. Dr. ಸರಜು ಕಾಟ್ಕರ್ ಅವರು ಬರೆದ "ಶಿವಾಜಿ ಮೂಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ನೆಲ" ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಾಜಿಯ ಮೂಲ ವಂಶಸ್ಥ ಬಳಿಯಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬುವವನು ಇದೆ ಗದಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸೊರಟುರಿನವರು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
