Stuck in the '80s is a podcast created and co-hosted by Steve Spears based in Orlando, Florida.[1][2] Stuck in the '80s covers the music, movies and pop culture of the 1980s. It features interviews with musicians, actors and celebrities of the 1980s, top 5 lists, CD and movie reviews. It began in July 2005 and now has more than 620 episodes.[1] The podcast airs weekly. Originally residing on the website of the Tampa Bay Times, the podcast is now independent but is financially supported by listeners via Patreon. Listeners access the show for free through multiple streaming platforms including Google Play, iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify and I Heart Radio.

Steve Spears (born 1967, Fort Lauderdale, FL) attended Countryside High School (Clearwater, FL) and the University of Florida, where he got a bachelor's degree in journalism. His career has included stints at the Florida Times-Union and the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times). During his time working in the web department at the Times, Spears came up with the idea for a podcast shortly before his 20-year high school reunion.
The name of the podcast came from one of their original sign-offs. Spears said goodbye with "we'll be here, stuck in the '80s" and it seemed to fit.
Previous co-hosts have included Gina Vivinetto, Sean Daly and Cathy Wos. In November 2012, Spears left the Times for a job in Orlando, but the podcast continues with co-host Brad Williams. The most downloaded shows remain the 40th anniversary of Xanadu, Forgotten Hits of 1982, and the Steve Perry interview.
Stuck In The ‘80s has been the official host of trivia on The '80s Cruise since its inaugural sailing In 2016. The podcast’s 500th episode was recorded live aboard the 2019 cruise and featured Interviews with original MTV VJs Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman and Alan Hunter.
